It's All New!

Namaste Beloved Friends,

In light of many changes, this comes to you because you have been a part of my spiritual circle in some way ... many of you through SLC ... thank you for touching my life and for coming to rest in my address book! Though I in no way represent youth or music ministry at SLC, it is through those ministries that so many of you came to be in our lives and hearts - mine and Jeremiah's - and we are both grateful for you and blessed by you.

This newsletter marks the beginning of something new. When I know what that is, exactly, I'll let you know! Or not. Definitely feel free to unsubscribe at any time! The last thing I want to do is add spam to your life! There's an unsubscribe button at the bottom of the page. Easy. Really.

My intention is to add connection to all of our lives both locally and globally; to nurture community and family for New Thought children of all ages. I am germinating a seed of a vision for a new web site for New Thought families set to launch in early 2007, and I welcome all the sunlight, water, and fertile soil you can offer for this seed. (Wait, did I just ask for fertilizer?!) I would like to ask for participation in this process for anyone who feels called ... subscribe and/or contribute to the website, be part of local and regional events and ... ???!!!

As one of my new songs, "Seed Of Me" acknowledges, the essence of a seed doesn't doubt what it will be. I'm trusting an essence I have yet to fully recognize here. Jeremiah recently lost his first 2 teeth and I have been watching the amazing emergence of his new, "permanent" teeth and the way that all the other teeth are shifting and rearranging themselves. A perfect plan is unfolding. And so it is for all.

For now, here's some updates about us and hopefully some uplifts for your mind and heart. "We are all a circle of Love. Hand in hand, we hold what we're made of. We are all a circle of Love." From one of my latest songs, "Circle".

We're Singing!

Laurie & Jeremiah are Singing! We are now visiting other churches with songs from Small & Seeker as well as some great new songs. We sang 5 songs with the Unity Fresno congregation last Sunday, Oct. 22 and I had angel kisses during every song! Everyone sang with us and it was both silly and sacred and soulfully satisfying. We will be dressing up and revving up for New Thought singing at Unity Temple, Santa Cruz this Sunday, Oct. 29. And we will be joining Rev. Denese at Unity Church of The Valley in Vacaville on November 5th for a Stone Soup Sunday. We'll sing with the congregation, have their youth participate in our "Instant" Youth Chorus singing "Soup Of The Soul" and then do an interactive, inter-generational concert after soup. Yahoo!
Remember, "Small After Small" and "I Am A Seeker" will make great stocking stuffers! You can still buy them at SLC or from us on line. You'll find all the CD lyrics, mp3 samples and much more about our music ministry at the web site:

Current Curriculum

It is my honor and pleasure to be holding silly and sacred space with some of the SLC youth whose parents are participating in Family Faith In Action. It's been great to take Dr. Dyer's 7 faces of Intention and explore them on a kid level. We are working with puppets, our group art project, the "Tree of Creativity", and of course music and song. There are 2 new songs written for this series. You can get the lyrics and hear a rough recording of "The Seed Of Me" as well as see each week's affirmation and "homeplay" on line:

Local Events

In the coming months, we hope to be hosting community circles locally for New Thought families ... stay tuned! For now, a few great opportunities for Sacramentons are here!

This Friday, Oct. 27th is of course The SLC Halloween Dance with great music, a costume contest and tons of fun! VFW Hall, West Sac, 7:30.

This Saturday Christ Unity is hosting their Harvest Festival which looks way fun for the young! Here's a bit of info from the Christ Unity website:
"Christ Unity Church invites you and your family and neighbors to attend our second annual S.A.F.E. Community Harvest Festival Sat. , Oct 28th, 10am - 4pm. ... "Soon to be famous Hot Diggity Dogs & Fixins", face painting, miniature animals, games, bouncy house, apple bobbing, live music, story telling and puppet shows."

Lastly, this isn't so local for our Sacramento friends but not so far either ... Calling all young children and their families!
Stone Soup Saturday: *Free Interactive Concert

Come Play At Our House!
All of our friends, young and old are invited to the above event and then to spend the afternoon playing at our house in Sutter Creek. Parents, you can even leave your kids to play if you want a quick tour of the wine country! Early evening departure is a must though because we are celebrating more Stone Soup the next morning with Rev. Denese and Unity Vacaville! We will be replaying a similar day on Dec. 2. Food For New ...

Dare we say ... Food For New Thought??!!

Again, I invite your input, energy, participation & prayers for New Thought Families and community. What is a morsel now could very well multiply to a banquet. It is my intention to be this seed open to Spirit in all forms for providing more resources and community for our New Thought children and families both locally and globally. I admit, I am mostly still a seed in the dark and I welcome your water, require your light and maybe even your fertilizer??!! Though I live and breathe in the circle of life, without you, I am but a circle of one.

Old Thoughts:
"We seek and we do not know what it is that we seek. Yet often a word would fill the emptiness, a touch would ease the ache. How little of love it takes to make a house of happiness out of a lonely heart!" - James Dillet Freeman in "Be!", pp 75

"...Everything the Power of the World does is done in a circle. ... Birds make their nests in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours. ... Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were. ... and so it is in everything where power moves."
- Black Elk in "Black Elk Speaks", pp 198-200
