Grateful Faith

I'm Alive!

Namaste Beloved Friends,
With faith filled gratitude, here's wishing you & yours a blessed Thanksgiving full of an abundance of awareness of just how blessed you are... May you feel free to breathe the miracle of you. I am ...

Happy Birthday to me! Yes, like the preschoolers I do music circles with, I'm shouting it out! For my young friends, excellent teachers of zeal, it is an easy, effortless celebration of life. I walk in and one will shout across the room, "Laurie Story! It's my birthday! I'm 4!" So here I go ... shouting it across cyber space ... "I am Laurie Story! Tomorrow is my birthday! (deep breath ... exuberant shout quiets to reverent whisper ...) I'm 44!" There. I said it. O.k., I whispered it.

My old friend, Faith Petric, now 91, wrote a great essay on age when she was around 80. One of the things she asked is why people hide their age. This last week I came up with an answer ... at least for me ... and that's why I'm shouting it out. I found my celebration of life clouded with lots of judgmental BS telling me what a failure my life was; ya, plenty of BS - blame and shame - and 99.9% of it directed at ME. Pretty hard to celebrate my existence from this place and my affirmation of Divine Order was sounding hollow and feeling empty. So I dug into the darkness and found relief from multiple sources but what I can say briefly is that the way I found myself back into the Grace of Source initiated with forgiveness. Now, I might be above average at forgiving others but definitely painfully slow to forgive myself especially with the BIG judgments that I can let define me and my life. Sooooooo ... I did some forgiveness work that led to compassion and from that place of compassion was able to realign with the Loving Truth of me. Ultimately, I returned to the breath & the miraculous gift of life.

THE Laurie Life Story is full of drama, sprinkled with out of body and near death experiences ... breaking my neck, being kidnapped at gunpoint, being on an airplane with baby Jeremiah on 911 ... as well as the pivotal mundane "failures" of debt and never being married... so what? So, I've been given my precious life over and over again, I'm learning a lot about cash flow, and I have the distinction of being a spinster so I've learned a lot about spinning the web of my creative life. I choose to celebrate me. All of me.

But enough about ME except to say that "I'M ALIVE" and so are you. The breath of us is truly cause enough for celebration ... and here it is in a great new celebratory song! Jeremiah and I sing it on the link below but in my heart, I can hear all of you singing along, gratefully and  faithfully celebrating the miracle of you.

Celebrate and sing with us ... "I'm Alive"!

Faith In Action

Tonight we have our final class with closing ceremony (including cake!) for Family Faith In Action at Spiritual Life Center. What a joy it has been to lead and be led by these beautiful children! Our Tree Of Creativity is now our Amazing Tree Of Abundance and indeed holds all 7 of the faces of intention covered in Wayne Dyers book. Last week, we did some sidewalk chalk art as part of our lesson in Abundance. We learned that by being in our flow of joy & fun, we were able to give a gift without attachment. In the coming weeks, I will post more on our crafts and lessons as well as some pictures of the Tree along with the existing affirmations, "HomePlay" and seed song already posted. The beautiful song, "The Seed Of Me" is revised and still available to hear.

As another current adventure in my faith in action walk with children & creativity, I am working with Jeremiah's 1st-2nd grade class to write and produce their own musical play, "Life Is A Gift". It always amazes me to watch creativity conquer chaos ... this faith walk is reassuring me and Jeremiah's teacher, Mrs. Tone, that there is incredible learning available from free Spirit. I will be giving a full report on the play in our next issue.

Children's Book Week!

Happy Children's Book Week! It's being celebrated in the U.S.A. November 13-19th. You can read all about it at: http://www.cbcbooks.org/
There are, of course, so many wonderful children's books! Here's a few favorites that bring home New Thought principles beautifully: The Carrot Seed by Ruth Krauss and Horton Hears A Who by Dr. Seuss for FAITH. And one of my all time favorites is Frederick by Leo Lionni. It nurtures FAITH, DIVERSITY, TOLERANCE, COMMUNITY & PURPOSE. While all the other mice store up food like nuts & berries for the winter, Frederick stores his supply of food for the soul.

As part of Gratitude November at Laurie's Stories, we are thanking our favorite authors, illustrators and characters each day. Tell us your favorites and you can win free Laurie Stor-E BooksTM! We also have a free book feast going on next week so come and read and play!

Grateful, Faithful Thoughts

As I write this, I am filled with awe and gratitude for the seeds of community, children, the new web site, the new books and songs that are all emerging ... And I am filled with grateful, faithful thoughts of you ... your loving hearts connecting with me through these words. What a blessing you are. Thank you, thank you, thank you for you!
Today the Daily Word is Faith and it reminds us that seeds can grow to weeds but we are gardeners and if we have weeds that crop up in the way  "...of God expressing itself through me. I replace these weed-thoughts with loving, fearless, faith-filled thoughts." Thank you God! If you need help with your garden, watch the movie, The Secret or one of Mary Robinson Reynold's great movies on line. Sure to lift your Spirits and help you align with the truth of you.
"Either everything is a miracle or nothing is a miracle" as once stated by Albert Einstein.
"I'm free to breathe the miracle of me ... miracle I am ... I'm alive, I'm alive, I'm alive!"

Celebrate and sing with us ... "I'm Alive"!
