Namaste Beloveds,
Merry Christmas and joyous tidings in this season of Light!! We are honoring angels in this month's newsletter because, I believe, like most of us, this is their busiest season too! In traditions around the world, there is a calling upon the Light at this time springing from the ancient Pagan tradtition of Solstice which ultimately honored the inner light. Often, we experience angels as light and I suppose, that is, in part, a truth of their being. Angels are spiritual energy.  ~Alexis F. Hope I have always felt and heard and even seen angels, sometimes as lights. I remember a freer, lighter me in the earlier days of my performance work seeing little colored lights - like the ones that twinkle on a Christmas tree- dancing above the children's heads in the audiences. I imagine the lights are still there, I just lost sight of them somewhere along the way. However, I have gained greater insight into seeing the "angels with skin on" that surround me everyday. Insight is better than eyesight when it comes to seeing an angel.  ~ Eileen Elias Freeman I am so grateful for the moments of awareness when I can recognize God in Action in those around me. We all have infinite opportunities to remind each other of who we are ~ the light and truth of our being. We can minister to each other with kind thoughts, words, connections whenever we are aware enough to choose this path. It's just habit. I gave this invitation to my beautiful 7 year old angel Jeremiah and so that if I "lose it" to anger or grief in front of him, he most often remembers to remind me, "Mommy, center in your heart. Remember the light of who you are."

Jeremiah went back to public school last week. We had been homeschooling since August. After tremendous surrender, humility and grace paved the way and we went back from whence we came. I felt the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders and he was definitely, infinitely more joyful himself. You can read about the journey on the site blog if your interested but let me just say that sometimes you have to fully leave something behind and sometimes you have to have the humilty to return. Sometimes, we have the gift to return. In this return, we now have such a greater appreciation for his teacher and the school and all that it offers. The school hasn't changed much but we sure have. And this, I believe, is often the work & play of angels. Isn't that what Clarence did for George Bailey in "It's A Wonderful Life?" Clarence was able to show George how much his life mattered by letting him see what life would have been like without him. George was able to return to his life with a greater sense of appreciation and JOY and from this Spirit place, others were touched and rallied to George with an outpouring of love, friendship, money, support. George got his heart and his life back and Clarence got his wings. Angels sail back to God on the sea of joy.  ~Adeline Cullen Ray
I am giving birth to the Angel of Joy in me through these unexpected means of surrender and humility this season as I continue my quest for truth and purpose in my calling. As one of my latest songs comments, "I follow my heart where it leads. I just pray not to be led by a wounded heart that bleeds." In the midst of all of it, the dark and the light, I am blessed by the presence of angels. I read somewhere that angels will never let you cry alone. They come to us, as the song says, with tidings of comfort and joy. This season and always, may you know the comfort and joy of the angels that surround you, the angel that is you.

The Present Of Presence

The greatest gift we can give or receive is presence. To be fully present is a wonderful and precious gift and it is through our awareness of Spirit, that full presence is facilitated.The way that we experience Light, Spirit, angels is different for each of us and perhaps different each season, each day, each moment depending on our ever unfolding awareness and capacity to believe. My gateway of late has been humilty surfacing in the wake of surrender and the quest for truth. My joy comes in waves most directly related to my willingness and ability to gratefully tap in and experience the joy that IS! My peace comes from staring into a candle flame each morning and nurturing my holy connection to the sacred and the divine. My love comes from the angels that surround me and the angel that I am when I allow the flow of Spirit to guide me and be me. My hope for all of us is that we let this awareness of Spirit grow and grow so that the division between human and Spirit melts more and more into the Light. Whether we are asleep or awake this season and beyond, let us rejoice in the light-filled truth of our being. "Angels we hear your Christmas call, sweetly singing to one and all ..."
