"Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation." -St. Thomas Aquinas |
Namaste Beloveds,
Greetings from Buffalo, NY where Jeremiah and I sang at the Unity Church here. How magnificent it was to be part of their wonderful Unity Community and to feel so at home in kindred Unity Spirit. It was amazing grace to sing 5 of our songs and have them be woven so purposefully into their service celebrating their grounds, gardens & gazebo and the beautiful hands and hearts in their community that gave of themselves to bloom their 3 Gs. It was such an inspirational celebration - Rev Mary Masters talked of the quantum connection of Oneness - how two particles aren't communicating with each other but are each other and that opened in me an even greater remembrance and celebration of all of you and the Unity Family of Love that we carry with us inside the garden of our hearts. So, this comes as a gratitude post card that says, not wish you were here but thank you for being here with us - being part of us. Also thank you to these new Unity friends who welcomed, fed, and appreciated us so well - what a blessing! Indeed, thank you for the Love and blessings so present wherever we go... We have seen dolphins swim and jump in the Atlantic, witnessed water lilys bigger than Jeremiah, sailed the Summer Wind on Lake Chautauqua, hiked gorgeous gorges full of waterfalls and stood in the midst of some of the world's biggest waterfalls actually encompassed in the full circle of glowing rainbow colors. We have connected with old friends and many new ones & I have a renewed sense of what it is to create the life I desire while living in the absolute trust of Divine Order. This loooong 3 week adventure ends this week on 8/8 & while we are eager to be home again, I must say the freedom of pilgrimage has been exhilarating. Somehow, it is so much easier to walk the prayer when the ground is fresh... gratefully I will be breathing some of this fresh energy into old & ongoing aspects of life. The New Thought Families site has a new look & focus coming up so hold trust & faith for that; this Sunday's August Newsletter will be full of NEWs! Meanwhile, there are just 9 days left before the Feathers Of Faith Camp Registration closes!! We welcome you to join us in this Sacred Sierra adventure where we will connect & celebrate with each other & with Mother Nature ... we'll worship on our own wonderfull waterfall walk. Come and energize your body, mind and soul! Program updates will be on site this week & you can register online at: http://www.newthoughtfamilies.com We gather in just 24 days and you only have 9 more days to say YES! I know of no better time and place to nurture ourselves as family. Thank you for seeding the trust essential for faith's foundation. Using trust without reservation, make your Feathers Of Faith Family Retreat reservation today! |

Living Trust
Namaste Beloveds!
I trust this finds you enJOYing the Divine Order of your life. Trust. We are always in the necessary flow of trust; without it, where would we be? Some might call it taking things for granted ... you know, that the sun rises and sets, that we keep waking up each day and keep breathing in every moment. What separates us from 'taking it for granted' and 'trust' is awareness. It is our conscious connection with the Source of life, the Source of breath, that provides the reverence of trust. I have been mediatating on trust for about a month now. We did Children's Church at Christ Unity in July and Rev Mary's talk was on trust. A great new song came forward that we employed with the "Instant" Youth Choir called "Trust What You Hear" and you can hear it on the site. In putting the song and this theme of Trust together for the site, I discovered that the verse on Pocahontus was false; she never led the explorers. Perhaps that was Sacagewea? Well, she did help lead Lewis and Clark along side her husband. How come I never heard about him before?! In the end, I will be changing the verse to Harriet Tubman who surely led slaves to freedom. I mention all of this because it speaks to the trust process itself. I have always followed my heart and like all of us, it has sometimes steered me "wrong". In the face of the disillusionment and pain that comes when feeling betrayed - by self or others - we have a myriad of "natural" reactions that take us away from the truth of who we are as loving and well loved beings. It is only (mis)judgement of the process! In the case of the song, the gift is seeing how by allowing more time in creation and preparation of the song and lesson, my "mistake" could have been avoided. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the song or it's message. On a larger scale, when someone you love lies to you and trust is betrayed, it is still the same process of judgement that feeds our pain. Can we step back, with a compassionate breath and know that everything is either an act of love or a cry for love? We can choose how we react even when it hurts. Forgiveness allows us the freedom to continue relationships or choose healthier ones but always to be free within ourselves to trust and love. There are many voices in my heart and I have learned that I can follow all of them but not always in an obvious way. I'm learning to discern the voice of God and the voice of ego who often cries out for healing and understanding. I remember sometime ago having a horrifying realization that I can be my own worst enemy. I have to watch out for the sneaky voice of sabotage, recognize it, forgive it, and compassionately say, "How can I quiet your fears and answer your cry for love?" Awareness is the foundation and trust is the core. Trust is core to faith, love, life ... it is the invisible breath that feeds us and awareness is our reverent connection to trust and all aspects of Source. It is all in Divine Order.
I absolutely trust that. |

Trust Seeds Faith Jeremiah and I had an amazing 3 week (working) vacation on the East Coast where we were cared for by friends and family, met many new wonderful people, had great adventures, saw so much beauty, and witnessed many magnificent waterfalls. The power of the waterfalls has helped me plant new seeds of trust for our life. I am supporting all of my dreams and desires with these seeds of trust. I invite you to plant some seeds of trust today ... right now ... breathe one into your heart and let it blossom your dreams, your faith, your beauty...
One dream I am sowing seeds for is the Feathers Family Retreat - that we are starting a new family tradition where like-minded families come together to play and pray. In many places we visited this summer, families gather on an annual basis; from the cultural mecca of Lake Chautagua to The Desert Sand Resort in Avalon, NJ, there is a beauty in the kinship of coming together each year. We have done this with the folk club campouts, Sara and her family go to Club Mud every year to build houses for poor Mexican families (see this with Sara linked from our Love page). Traditions. They help build a family. I am trusting the seeds of faith that we can come together for fun, frolic, fellowship and ... feathers!
Our Waterfalls page will recapture our 3 week adventure! |

Trust In Site
"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much." - Mother Teresa
Our New Thought Families web site has has some renewed vision thanks to our time away. I must employ Jeremiah's favorite feather family virtue ... the suprise one. I can say that I am embracing myself compassionately in this moment because of the work in progress ... trying to be impeccable with my word to myself and others and knowing that I am doing my best. And that I always do my best and some days my best is better than other days ...! With that disclaimer over, here's the NEWS, the site is still developing it's ABC's Of Spirit and we will feature 1 per month. In August, it's TRUST. And you'll have to trust me that it will be done SOON! What we have is a format to follow and perhaps this will make it easier for any of you to contribute. So, there is one main topic per month and different categories you can contribute to. The next few themes are: August - Trust, September - Prayer, October - Abundance, November - Gratitude. And here are the categories: Sounds: Song of the month with lyrics, mp3, pictures. Voices in prayer, comment, story; this includes Kidspeak, Minister Moment, or any other voice calling & willing to be heard.
Curriculum: Activities, affirmation, and stories using the song and other resources on the site for home or church use. Words: Monthly affirmation + additional, inspirational words in the form of quotes, poetry, stories. Do you have a story that speaks to any of of themes?! Pictures: Artwork and photographs will be used to help illustrate our inspirational messages. Video: In my dream state, I still hope to offer a monthly "movie" or power point ... not yet but I trust it will be. www.newthoughtfamilies.com is an inspirational SPIRIT place to play and pray and celebrate life's goodness with childlike passion, fun, wonder, and reverence. In God We Trust
Yes, God can be the easy one to trust ... easier than other humans or even self sometimes. But if we truly trust God than surely we can trust ourselves and others for we are all expressions of this same Source. And as we view this Source as Love, the teaching reminds us, everything is an act of Love or a cry for Love. There is an Irish saying, "When mistrust goes in, love goes out. " The constrictive bands of pain can so easily convince us that our heart was wrong and it seems to follow that this pain and judgement kills whatever belief, passion, love that was held so dearly there. It is courage and faith that allow us to feel again, to believe again, to love again. And without trust, courage and faith have no breath of life. To fully experience life, we must trust. There is no other way. "We're never so vulnerable than when we trust someone - but paradoxically, if we cannot trust, neither can we find love and joy ." - Walter Anderson
We are here to live love and joy and peace and so yes, in God we trust.
