A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history. ~Mahatma Gandhi ![]() For the inspiration of Mahatma Gandhi, we give thanks! Mohandus Gandi dedicated his life to the wider purpose of discovering truth, or Satya. Gandhi is best remembered and revered for leading India to freedom & independance through civil disobedience enacted with total non-violence. He was the first to apply non-resistance & non-violence in the political arena & on such a wide scale. One of his best known movements was The Salt March or The Salt Satyagraha campaign which was based upon Gandhi's principles of nonviolent protest called satyagraha, which he loosely translated as "truth-force". The 24 day, 240 mile march to produce salt without paying tax sparked civil disobedience in millions of Indians and landed Gandhi in jail. Though he was jailed several times in his life, he remained a powerful, compassionate & peaceful voice for change & freedom.Gandhi's "weapons" were non-cooperation, non-violence and peaceful resistance. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. ~Mahatma Gandhi ![]() A nation's culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people. ~Mahatma Gandhi Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (October 2, 1869 – January 30, 1948) ![]() ![]() ![]() All compromise is based on give and take, but there can be no give and take on fundamentals.
